I was just newly married and living in Columbus, Ohio. My husband was in the service and was stationed at DCSC there.  I was watching tv when the news bulliton came on. The tv then stayed on till the president was buried.I watched with no sleep for all that time!

While I was watching, the UPS man came to the door with a package for me, I was crying so hard, I couldn't talk, he just stared at me. I couldn't even tell him what I was crying for. I just closed the door and went back to the tv.                                  Carol  alienspirit@hotmail.com

I was in the 8th grade, but was home sick from school with the flu. My mother was cleaning house and listening to the TV. She came to my room and said' "I think something has happening to the President!" "President Kennedy?" I replied. "Yes" said she. "I think it is something bad." We cried together all afternoon until my Dad and brothers came home. We cried more that night as we watched the news reports.                                                   Rita   ritap1@hotmail.com

I was at home with my new 2 month old baby boy. I was ironing and watching TV and the baby when the announcement came over TV. At first I could not believe it. I spent the rest of the day watching TV and crying. He was a great president. America needs him in the White House TODAY!                                                                          Barb  barbara-omalley@webtv.net

I had just turned a year old the previous month. My Mom was watching TV while ironing, and I was crawling around the floor under the ironing board. I remember none of this, of course. :)

At the San Carlo Opera House in Naples, Italy. I remember someone walking down the wide marble staircase and saying, Your president's been shot. I didn't believe him, so I went out to supper with a friend. My parents didn't know I was going out after the opera, so they drove through Naples trying to find me. I saw them from the bus on the way home. To make things worse, Nov. 22d is my father's birthday, so for nearly 30 years, every year Nov. 22 was "the day Kennedy was shot". (It's quieted down somewhat.)

The TV coverage in Italy was not anywhere near what it was in the US, and I have always felt that in some ways, I missed the seminal event of my generation.

I was in 7th grade Math Class at Brookhurst Junior High School, Anaheim California. The teacher was so shocked he just starred. We couldn't believe it and thought it was a bad joke. My friend, Janie and I cried all the way walking home.

I was in the sixth grade at White Sands Missile Range in New Mexico. I had gone home for lunch that day and when I got home my mom and I heard the news on the radio. We were totally shocked that something like this could have happened. When I went back to class, the teacher had brought in a television into the classroom and we watched the rest of the events and news reports. It was a day I will never forget.

On November 22, 1963. I was in the hall way of my High School talking about the dance coming up. I was in the 9th grade. Than a voice came over the loud speaker telling us that the President had been shot. I started crying. Went to my next class and every one was crying. They let us go home. My family was in the living room watching it on TV.

It was a sad day for the USA.

I was aboard the USS Coral Sea and we were returning from a West Pac cruise when they anounced it on the speaker system. I was not one of his fans because I am a Republican, however it was a bad thing to happen to anyone. I was sorry that Johnson got the Presidency because it was due to him and his people that started sending our troups to Vietnam. I feel sorry for the enlisted men who had to serve. I think we should have put the politions on a ship and sent them to fight the "conflict". Both my brothers had to go and I lost a very good friend to a worthless cause. I think the people who down graded our service men who had to go should have had to serve time. Jane Fonda should have been put in front of a firing squad and shot for what she did. The men and women who had to serve should be honered for what they were told to do. I hope we have learned that we can't fight a politions war.
